We propose to obtain broad-band photometry with ISOPHOT for the z=2.76 radio galaxy MG1019+0535 (Dey et al 1994). We strongly suspect this galaxy to be dusty because the strength of its narrow Lyman-alpha emission line is far below normal compared to the strengths of the HeII and CIII] emission lines. We wish to determine the mass of cool dust and the gas-to-dust ratio in this high redshift galaxy by ISO photometry at 60, 90 and 160 microns (observer's frame). This galaxy provides a unique opportunity to quantitatively examine the dust emission from a luminous galaxy where Lyman-alpha is weakened by the combination of resonance line scattering and dust absorption, and to study the properties of dust in the early universe.
