We request time on ISOPHOT to make high-sensitivity maps between 21 and 200 microns of ten nearby elliptical galaxies. These have dust lanes which indicate substantial amounts (typically 10^6 solar masses) of dust but which, unlike most dusty ellipticals, are not detected by IRAS. They are therefore good candidates for galaxies containing cold dust, perhaps in large amounts.
